I need help with how to put this together!?

I work for my families small business and recently took over taking care of the books. Everything has been kept pretty simple.. mostly just money coming in and going out. Theres never been inventory taken, no budget, no forecast, no aged receivables, long term debt, etc.. I want to start doing all that and we have quickbooks and plan to get everything going in there, but for now, I need to come up with all these kinds of numbers to present to someone soon and I don't really know what I should be putting where- (I have all the numbers broken down, just dont know how I should be putting them back together) so I was wondering if there are any templates or databases I could use to come up with these numbers. I tried Microsoft Office online, but found nothing, please help!!

  1. Just about anything you need to report on is available through QuickBooks. Sounds like you may need help using QB to it's full potential. I suggest doing a search for QuickBooks help or QuickBooks experts. You might also go to the Intuit site, they are the owners of QB, and do a search for help. It will cost you a few $ but less expensive than hiring an accountant. Alternately, you can post a project on guru.com. Good luck. You have a good program in QB.
  2. Go directly to your local college and take a QB class. Usually they have continue education. Your company pays for it as an expense. You can also, in addition, go online and purchase a CD to help you learn how to use QB to it's fullest. AND if you click on the help button, in the program, you'll see what Intuit offers, too. You should have Quickbooks Pro for what you're trying to do. And it' prints all sorts of reports.
