How do I change the design of my template?

I recently just joined blogger because I want to start being a makeup, etc blogger :D I followed the direction and even got a css for it but somehow my templates overlap. I don't know how to delete the template that I first chose so that I can use my customized css template. Help please! whenever I save it, it keeps saying Your template could not be parsed as it is not well-formed. Please make sure all XML elements are closed properly. XML error message: The entity name must immediately follow the '&' in the entity reference. and I have no clue what this means haha..

1. Well first you have to download a new template. Go to appearance, install the new template, and when done click on the template you want to use. Hope it helped.
