Free forum software with login integration?

I'm looking for a free forum system that I can add to one of my websites. Preferably written in PHP and using MySQL. So far, so good. There are plenty of them around. But my website has its own login system already, and it seems silly to ask people to create a 'forum account' when they already have a 'website account'. So I'm looking for a forum that's easy to integrate with my existing login system. It would also be helpful if the templates are fully and easily customisable. Thanks

2. Use something like phpBB and either edit the code so it checks the login from your database or import all current login entries and make your registration script add entries to the forum DB when a user registers.
