How do I make a cool looking website?

Hello im Thomas,and im trying to make a cool website for my xbox 360 clan.I recently downloaded wordpress but it didn't have much options.So i downloaded Joomla.And I love it but it doesn't have any cool templates.I have seen some websites that look bad ass.Is there any software they downloaded to make that cool website.(And no I don't want to copy their .CSS).If anyone has any ideas I would really appreciate it.Thank you for listening.

1. design your own using an image editing software, either that or pay a freelancer to design a website for you.

3. If you're cool with dropping a couple bucks ($10-$20), you can check out themeforest. Otherwise get a copy of illustrator, design a layout, then create your layout using HTML/CSS.
4. try hiring someone who will do this work for you hire some body who will do this work for you cheaply.there are also some free online website developer like wix,weebly,yola,godaddy and try building your own website who provide you a sub domain as there free hosting is also patheticmso better hire somebody rather than running here and there
5. you can alter the way joomla look by just changing template as joomla separate the logic for presentation and the core system behind (in adnvanced term, its call MVC Framework). As the most popular cms, joomla has very big comunity, so its not true at all that joomla has no cool template (i must admit, free template mostly boring though). You should google premium template for joomla and you'll find some of masterpiece there. So my suggestion for you: 1. For free template you have to googling and googling again until you find the best for you. 2. Go to template source website, its scattered around internet, one of my favourite is template monster. 3. Find some people in internet that want to help you coding the template for you (mostly you have to pay, but try ahead, maybe you'll get lucky with someone) 4. Learn creating template layout yourself as its not difficult as it seems. Just basic knowledge of html php and css, the rest is just will power and intuition.
6. You can try creating your own template with Artisteer - it's a cool tool.
7. You will need a graphic designer to create some cool graphics that would match your theme and you can also get a website builder here are some good ones out there.
