I want to resign as Company Director do I need to send letter to confirm to the company secretary?

If so could anyone on here help me with a letter template? its just that I have searched internet and can only come up with employee resignations. Also do I have to send the other director of this company a letter of resignation too? any help here would be greatly appreciated.

  1. Why do you not send the letter to the Chairman stating you wish to resign? How can anyone help when we don't know why you want to resign? Your letter does not need to be long winded. Everyone is always too long winded.
  2. Yes, you need to put it in writing to the Corporation's Secretary or President. Why do you need a template? All you need to do is write a simple letter--Dear So-and-So, it is with regret that I must resign my position as ___________. Sincerely yours.....
  3. if you dont know what to write, then how on earth did you get that directors job in the first place?? Just tell the board face to face and that you dont know what to write, they will probably give a collective sigh......
  4. I'm not sure where you live but I would think you would have to see the company lawyer to remove you as a director of the company. and then you can address the other directors. If you are not listed on the company directory then just a simple letter stating you are resigning and when is enough.
  5. Yes, you do. You don't need a letter template just something along the lines of To: (Company Secretary) Copy to: Director This letter is to inform you that with effect from (date) I wish to resign as a Director of ABC Holdings. Please note that from that date, I will no longer be liable for any assets or liabilities of the Company. Yours sincerely The Company Secretary will get a form from Companies House, to remove you as a Director of the Company. Have you tried Companies House website, as they have lots of information on there. www.companieshouse.org.uk Hope this helps
  6. you need to do two things... the most critical is to send the resignation form to companies houes.. you can download a copy of the relvant form from the companies hiuse website.. that clears you legally you should also write a letter to the company.. addressesd to the compnay secreatary or MD advising them of your decision and give a defintive date ie I am resginging as director form this date:dd/mm/yyyy
  7. Your resignation should be sent to the President or Chairman and copied to the Company Secretary. I hope you are a Company Director who has felt the need to resign because of ill health and are confused by the illness you have. However, if you are not ill and just wish to resign for another reason, I too question you original eligibility for the position of Director. My experience of Company Directors is that they exercise corporate responsibility for the assets and development of their business and in doing this are competent in many fields. Indeed, given that there are opportunities for new employees to be interviewed for positions, it surprises me that there is insufficient intelligence in the Director's office. I withdraw the last paragraph unreservedly if the cause was an illness as described.
  8. A simple one line letter stating the effective date of your resignation is sufficient. Normally this would be sent to the chairman at the company's principle trading address but if you want to be certain that your resignation is correctly recorded, send a copy to the Company Secretary at the registered office (this will be shown on the company stationery). An officer of the company will then file a 288b at Companies House. Form available on line: http://www.companieshouse.gov.uk/forms/formsOnlineInfo.shtml#288b
  9. Come on now... this is an important issue and you should not be trying to answer these important issues on the Internet. You should be seeking PROFESSIONAL advise. Have you an accountant or solicitor?
  10. nope!
