DH Templates

Microsoft Office question?

I have Microsoft Office Home & Student 2007, and was wondering if anyone could tell me how to make a custom template?...I wish to make a template to write a movie-script, and I need to set multiple right & left margins to do this...Is it possible to program my saved template to respond to certain keys on my keyboard?...Say for example "C" for character name (centered), "T" for text character says within set margins, etc...I've seen screenplay templates online for download but, I can't figure out which keys to hit for whatever I need it to do...I would really like to create my own custom template...Any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated!...Thank you!

  1. You create a template by Saving As .dot (or .dotx) I'm not sure what features may be disabled in the H&S version but the other things you want to do can be done with macros and keyboard shortcuts. View tab | Macros (which has a pretty good help system) Search Help for the steps for keyboard shortcuts.
  2. Why create your own custom template? Screenplay format is very strict, and if you mess with it producers will notice. Download free screenwriting software from http://www.celtx.com/ - it's easy to use and has loads of useful features.
