US Citizen child living in Indai need police certificate to go back to USA?

My Son born in USA, after that we came to India. And we are staying here alost for 3 years. We are again going to USA now. Somebody said we need to get the police certificate from India which is required at the port of entry. Anyone have idea about these documents & process and where we can download those template documents?

1. The ONLY thing a US citizen needs to return to the USA is a plane ticket and US passport. You need nothing else.
2. No need of police certificate. All he needs is US passport.
3. no for enter USA, he needs only his passport and the ticket, may be for leaving india but if he is not indian citizen and you are all leaving together you don't need anything else.
4. Not sure what your question means. If your son has his US passport, he needs nothing else. I'm guessing he does have one, because that's how he traveled to India. If it's expired, he'll need a new one from the Consulate. If you were green card holders, you are out of status. You can be outside the USA for a year before you lose your residency status. If you got a Re-Entry Permit, that'll let you stay for two years. Three years and you're out of status. When you re-apply for immigration, you may need the police certificates, but you got them the first time, so you already know the drill. If you became US citizens before you left the USA, you only need your US passports to return.
