When writing a cv, would you put music exams in hobbies and interests or other qualifications?

I had them as a small statement in my hobbies and interests, as I still enjoy playing music, and wanted to point out that I had achieved something through this, but my friend suggested it should go as an "other qualification"

  1. Music, exams come under hobbies Other qualifications include shorthand, etc
  2. music can be listed as a hobby, but once you take an exam in music, it becomes a qualification, You can list it under 'other qualifications'. However, this also varies with the kind of job you are applying for. An engineering firm, may not be view music as any qualification at all; while an application for a degree in theatre, drama and arts may be viewed favorably in the light of your degree in music.
  3. I would list any formal exams under 'other qualifications'. Anyone looking quickly through the CV is more likely to notice these in a list rather than in a small personal statement.
