donation request letters?

Our local youth baseball org. is asking for donations to help with repairing the fields, buying new eqiupment..etc,..they are asking all the coaches to type a letter so we can send it to local business for donation requests..I SUCK at writing letters like this..can you help me out here...or are there any free templates out there I could use as a guideline??..All I have found on yahoo are paid sites..thanks!!! just for additional info my son is 5 and playing t-ball

1. I think you should have your son, or whoever is acctally on the team write it. Then you can edit it. If a child rights it, there is a billion percent more of a chance that they'll donate money. It's great to enclose a picture as well. Good luck.
2. Someone suggested having your child write or dictate the letter That is a great idea. Maybe start out with My Name is Bobby (or whatever) and My mommie is writing down what I say for me. I like to play baseball. Did you play baseball? Did you like it? Mom is our coach too. She says playing ball helps my muscles and helps me get along with people. I don't know about that but I like to hit the ball and run. Sometimes I catch it too. Right now the ball field needs a lot of help so us kids can play. Mom is writing down a list of the stuff they need so we can play. Will you help us please. (then tell any perks they get like ad in program or a certificate for their store when they help and suggest donation amounts, a choice of 3 levels usualy works) and ad you can come to our games too, OK? Thank you for helping us get to play if you have a cute kids in ball uniforms picture put that at the bottom of the letter.
