notebook word template for microsoft office X on a mac?

hi everyone, i've seen a lot of people operating off of microsoft office 2008 on a macbook pro using the notebook layout function. i am using microsoft office x on my macbook and was wondering if there is anything with a comparable function? i have looked up and found several templates online, but they all seem to be restricted to pc's. any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance!

1. "Notebook layout"? Notebook is a pure text editor, it doesn't do layouts of any kind (unless they're text files).
2. Notebook layout view was introduced in Word 2004 and was improved a bit in Word 2008. You'll have to upgrade to one of the newer versions to use Notebook Layout view in Word.
