help with html/css. ?? :)?

im making a website on freewebs using html. so i go to a website which has free html/css templates and it says to download it and unzip it. so i do it. and im stuck from here there is a note pad thing with code in it so i copy and pasted it and saved it and when i view my website. it isnt html its just text. D: idk what im doing wrong. http://poppycosmetics.webs.com/index.htm lol i dont know css but i know /basic/ html. i dont even know what the fk im doing. i wish i was a computer geek.

1. Uhm.. you should learn how to do things before doing them. Basically what you will download is an archive of files. One, the CSS file holding the information key to formating the page. Also, probably a folder with a bunch of images that go as headers, footers, links.. You will need to add all this information to your website database, and link to it properly. Say your homepage name is: test.com/index after adding the image folder, you should have them as test.com/images then the css (example freelayout.css) is: test.com/freelayout.css Your css should be modified if it need be, to link to the images, now located in test.com.. but probably not if you do it correctly and there aren't any subfolders. 2. Be a little bit more specific with your question. What exactly are you trying to do? But from what you have given me, I have one possibility. You could have two conflicting codes, resulting in neither of them working and just showing up as text.
