Which is better Microsoft office for mac or iwork?

I need help deciding which is better for school. I already tried both trials, and i like iwork because it has nicer templates than microsoft. But then for college everybody uses microsoft. ?????

1. i use NEO office its a free program for the MAC it has an excel program, powerpoint, word and you can save in office format as well heres one for open office it runs the same way http://www.openoffice.org/
2. iWork can export to Microsoft Word/Excel/Powerpoint format but some of the formatting might be different if you're using features exclusive to iWork. I do like using iWork more because it seems to run faster and integrates so nicely into the Mac OS. However, if you need to submit projects in Microsoft Word formats, you might have to dumb down your iWork files so that they will appear normal in MS Word.
