Is Microsoft Works better or more convenient than Microsoft Office in any way?

Incidentally I came across Microsoft Works (pre-installed on my new laptop). Had a quick look in it and also followed its quick introductory tutorial. Seems to contain some pretty neat templates and tools here and there for student and mini-secretary types of jobs. Up to now I've mainly been using Microsoft Office suite. In comparison, what are some of the main features of Microsoft Works that are better or more convenient than Microsoft Office suite? Thanks.

  1. None, Microsoft Works is a trimmed down version of Office which is shipped free with laptops and computers. Microsoft Office is better in everyway.
  2. None of the documents are compatible with other office programs. It is a free giveaway and as such is nowhere near as good as Office.
  3. yes.
  4. It's basically the same thing, just a different program. Some stuff is in different places, and some of the fonts are different but other than that its pretty similar. However I find that it is very inconvient when you need to send an attachment to someone since most people have word and they can't open works.
  5. im not too sure about microsoft works being better than microsoft word or microsoft office. the better thing about microsoft office is that it will be way more compatible wtith literally everything - if you wanted to use a different computer, or upload some of your stuff at school or somewhere else whatever, there are a hell of a lot more things that are compatible with microsoft office/word. also the microsoft office has loadsmore, like powerpoint etc etc
  6. Microsoft Works doesn't have many of the features that Microsoft Office has. If you want something comparable to Microsoft Office, then try Open Office. Which you can download for free. http://download.openoffice.org/
