Why does the color change when I convert pdf to tiff? Can I fix this? THANKS!!?

I have a letter head in PDF format that I want to change into a word template. Only problem is word does not read pdf images so I have to convert the image. This changes the colors. I do not remember running into this ever. Can anyone be of service?

1. I work with Word seldomly and with pdfs even less. But most of the time when a color is changing when converted or importing into other programs is because the color gamut changes. If the pdf is in anything other than rgb then information will be lost. What program are you using to convert to Tiffs? Is there a setting on the save as part that allows you to imbed icc profile? If so, check that. It will tell the next program what color gamut the Tiff is supposed to be read in. You may also try converting to Jpegs, they are more widely used by just about any program that uses images.
