When you download a template for Microsoft Office - Access, can you modify fields?
I am looking for a simple stock control database (inventory) and have downloaded a template for access. I can't figure out how to modify fields. Is this possible? If so how? If you know any free software that I can download for stock control/inventory that is better than access, let me know too! Thanks

- Yes, you can change, as they are only templates, i.e. a starting point for you instead of designing from scratch though pretty often as the templates are so Americanised it is generally - if you know how to design databses - to create from scratch. Just go into the design view of each table and click on the relevant fields, rename if required and edit or delete as required. When you go to close the table or switch to datasheet view to enter your data, you will be asked to save the changes. It may be however that first you will have to go into relationship window and delete the relationships. Presumably you are using 2007 version, and I personally having used and taught Microsoft products for very many years would recommend nothing else.
