DH Templates

I want to host a website for my photography business and dont know where to start?

I have been to godaddy, yeah confusing and annoying. I need a site that will provide me with stylish templates and options to work with, such as galleries, email links, and somewhere I can also get a domain name. Any help would be great.

  1. When you host a web site you can mix and match a little, as in you can register your domain one place and host in another. Here is the most inexpensive way to do it. Register the domain at godaddy.com, use the coupon code hash3 for a discount ($7.45/yr). This is your registrar. Go to djlsolution.com and sign up for a hosting account, you will need either the basic ($2/mo) or you can build your own package if you want more too it. This is your host. Now go back to your registrar and change your name servers to match the ones provided in the email from the host. In 24-48 hours (max) your site will be up and ready for designing. With the host you will have some free scripts, I would recommend one of the Fantistico gallery ones to get you started. I am the owner of DJL so if you go this route and you run into any issues please let me know. I would be happy to help you register your domain, update your name servers and help get your gallery running. support@djlsolution.com
  2. There are many web hosting providers and you might become confused to choose which one. It is very important that you choose a good web host. Good doesn't mean expensive. Good means reliable with great support. When you choose a web host, make sure they have excellent support. If you have a problem with your web site you want help now, not in a day or two. It can be confusing when choosing a web hosting company because they all look pretty much the same and they seem like they know what they are doing. However, I recommend reading reviews from reliable websites so that you may compare and become more familiar with the hosting companies before making a decision. This website has helped me a lot with my hosting decisions for a while now http://www.top15hosting.com I am a web designer and I have changed back and forth from many companies over the years but my favorite one is currently ranked #1. I am moving all my websites to them as the contracts expire. I hope this will help you.
  3. And the easiest way to create a website is reachable here (web host offering 4500 decent templates): http://www.threehosts.com/tell-me-more/hg.html Good Luck!
  4. Try Blink Web or Wix, their easy to manage free website (or blog) has cool features that include drag and drop capability, switch designs on the fly, youtube and google video, custom html, upload images, flikr photo gallery, visitor stats and more. You can also buy a new domain instantly, or host your existing domain for free and make it your own (www.yourown.com) If your looking for something more advanced but still user friendly then try XsitePro, Sitebuilder Designs or Calvary Studios, they have everything you need in building your own website: domain name registration or domain transfer, web hosting, web builder, site maintenance and email accounts. Everything is laid out in an easy to follow step by step instruction. Some of the features included enable you to add your own themes, videos, images or mp3 music making your site unique to you. Pricing is comparable and affordable too. I hope that I was of some help and answered your question.

  6. Hello, Although I can understand why you would want a free host, it is important to look at the total package that comes with paying a host. Really a webhost is only as good as the customer service it offers. A great host should have 99% Network uptime, fast and reliable hardware, and 24X7 customer service availability. You should be able to call the Host 24 hours a day and speak to someone that can help. No matter who you are, you will want great customer service. I would look into HostMySite.com. They offer a 30 day money back guarantee. This way you are not tied down and still are free to go else where. Good Luck.
