I am from Europe and want to apply for a job in the USA? What things do I need to consider when writing a CV?
I have a CV that I use for European companies. It's 2 pages long, includes my date of birth, a picture of myself, and information about Education, language skills, professional experience, and other activities. It's signed by hand. I heard that there is a specific rule when it comes to e.g. portrait pictures and date of birth in the US. Is it allowed to include these things? What else should I include that I did not mention?

- Yes, take out your picture, birth date, and any other personal information (height, weight). You need to find a company to sponsor you on an H1-A or B visa.

- My best advice would be to "customize" your resume to every job you apply; yes I understand it might be a lot of work, but it will provide you with better chances of landing a job, specially at the state of our economy. As an example, I would include my cooking classes for an application as a restaurant manager, however I would omit it when applying as a web designer. Also, you could prepare a portfolio of previous work and include it on the application if possible; this will help you stand out. Last tip, keep it short; try to fit it on one page.
- I have lived in Europe and applied for jobs with a CV. I am guessing you are from Eastern Europe? I think this because Eastern Europeans for some reason have pictures on their CV. You don't need a picture on your CV when applying for a job in America..
