Trouble with wordpress blog?

Ive just started my own hosted blog with hostgator and really dont have a clue what on earth i am doing. Ive got my hands on a free wordpress blog template but i dont know how to alter it. For example it comes with a affiliate image but i want to change the image and include a different affiliate link. It also says your adsense goes here but how do you get the adsense on there. Is there a certain part of the control panel that i need to alter or do i change it to the files before i upload it if so how? i would appreciate any assistance

2. You need to edit the scripts in some cases. I could do it for you if you link my website. You would just need to email me your spec and password. I'll host you one for free for a mention on your site, like in the footer or something. Do you have DNS management of the domain name?
3. You can edit the files of your theme. Most likely the files you would like to edit will be called index.php sidebar.php etc, open them with Notepad or other text editor, edit them, then upload them to the theme folder via FTP You should upload them to: /wp-content/themes/name-of-the-theme folder Good luck
