Quickbooks Invoice Templates - it won't accept the changes!?

I want to simply change the margin width for a column - "Class". I resized it and made the other columns smaller to accommodate the Class column being larger. The Layout Designer shows it, but when I go to make a new invoice, it is back to the old layout. I made a new invoice template with a completely different layout, but still trying to make the Class column larger than the Description column. But STILL, it did not take. Is there an "Apply" step? What am I missing?

1. This will happen if you add the 'Back Ordered' column to an invoice and then adjust the column widths. Unfortunately, there is no solution at this time.
