How come when i try to edit a css with adobe dreamweaver i have problems?

when i try to edit a css (website template) i always have troubles. like what i mean is that it only shows up as the entire html code for the website and when i try to switch it to view it wont work. it kind of annoys me because i paid good money for that program and i dont want it to be wasted cash.

1. In Dreamweaver, next to the file name, there should also be a CSS file right next to it. You can also just use CSS properties to make the changes.
2. Dreamweaver can create CSS files. then just include that like of that CSS file at the top of your HTML doc. Use the CSS window (Shift+F11) in Dreamweaver to edit the CSS file.
