How do you put a picture in one slide for the background on Microsoft Powerpoint?

I have Microsoft Powerpoint 2000. I know, outdated. But anyways I don't want to use the design templates they give. I want to use my own picture. How do I do so? If you answer thanks in advance.

  1. There are 2 ways: One is right click outside of a textbox and click Format Background It will ask if you'd like to use pictures from clipart, files, gradient examples or texture examples You can also paste a picture out of a textbox and make it bigger up to the size of the slide and then right-click and click Send to Back
  2. Follow this link...it will walk you through it.
  3. Under Format > Background, select 'Fill effects' from the drop down box. Select the tab 'Picture', click the button 'Select picture' and then choose your picture to be set as the background. After choosing the picture, if you click 'Apply to all', all slides will have the same background. If you click 'Apply', then the particular slide only will have the background and you can choose different background for different slides.
