In Powerpoint, how do you apply a custom design template?
I got a design template from this site http://www.templateswise.com/ but now that I have downloaded and extracted it, the template isin't properly showing up on my powerpoint

- I just checked out the site and downloaded a file. It appears to just be a PowerPoint FILE (.ppt) not a TEMPLATE (.pot). Not only that, but the slide master is not formatted at all, just a sample slide. So, it's not a template and the way to use it would be to open the file that you downloaded and just type into the 2 slides they provided. Copy and paste to make more slides. Note: I looked at the slide master of the file I downloaded and it was in French. Immediately PowerPoint started beeping and asking me if I wanted to download the right spelling tools, etc. Your best bet might be just to go to the slide with the background, right click on the background and select Save Background. Save the jpeg somewhere. Create a new PowerPoint and put the background in the slide master. So basically re-create the template using their elements. I only checked out one file, but I'm guessing they are all the same. Good luck. Feel free to ask me more questions here or via email.
- 1. Find the PowerPoint template your have downloaded which has a POT postfix. 2. Move the .pot file to: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Templates\. Or try to copy files into this location: C:\Documents and Settings\%user%\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates\ Here %user% is your windows' login name.
