Web Design/Development and Flash Costs?

Hello, I was wonder what a typical Web site costs to build. I am unsure of current rates and am interested in finding out more about these rates in case I decide to hire someone. Could you please let me know what the current rates are for these? Graphic Design / hour HTML - CSS / hour JavaScript / hour PHP / hour CMS / hour Flash - Actionscript / hour Also, the sites that offer free templates for very little money - is that a good way to go? Thanks ahead of time for the help!

  1. Hi, I'm a freelance designer and web developer and I charge around $30 and hour, for pretty much everything you said there. I'd consider myself quite high end though. The best thing to do is post a project on a freelancing web site and invite people to bid on your project. The best sites are: http://www.ifreelance.com (more professional) http://www.getafreelancer.com (cheaper) Templates are a great and cost effective way to go. bare in mind many full flash sites won't be readable by search engines though.
  2. Pricing by the hour can be very deceptive and I find it to be almost useless. I have had 3 websites built, all done by http://www.samwilson3d.com this is my latest : http://www.signaturecowboy.com cost $475 You can describe your project and get a quote upfront. Why guess. -btw other companies quoted me over $800 for this site
  3. If you want me to give you an accurate quote, please explain is your site personal or business, and how many pages are you likely to have, and does it need updates in the future. Whats your goal and what do you want. When you see posts with low prices be careful. As for templates, Even if the code is set you need to know html to customize and make sure what you add won't cause a bug to occur. All in all get a website up, marketing it is the hardest part of all and if you plan to hire someone make sure they know how to do Seo properly.
