my css disappears every now and again why?

I use dream weaver so every now and again the colour, borders and everything that depends on the css diappears and whats left is a blank white page with all the content but in black and blue text, but sometimes the colour is all there with the colour text and all. why does that happen. I am using a css html template that i downloaded.

1. That is the downfall to using programs like DreamWeaver and FrontPage. They like to change things on you and bloat your html pages with useless code. It could be that the CSS class is being removed from a tag on your page which is required to make the CSS work.
