business card making problems (printshop & publisher)?

Why is this so hard? I started in print shop spent a whole day designing my double sided business card. Happy with it until the end. I wanted the whole background yellow. It would let me color the background, except leaving me this 1/8’ box around the whole edge of the card. Not good enough (the whole back of the card yellow). So then went to ms publisher (everyone said use ms publisher). Fine, I found what looks like a business card template. Figured out how to color it yellow…good. Tried to import the rest of my file from print shop .biz ext. publisher wont accept the .biz ext. it…now only wondering where is the Avery 8371 template is on publisher…. Is their a solution (not go have someone do it for me) or program that can handle it all?

1. In PrintShop, export the card face design and back color as an image (tiff, png, bmp). Then import these images into the template on Publisher and arrange them to fit in the squares.
2. The dotted lined area gets cut off when you have it printed.
