What are websites made out of? ?

First off, I KNOW HTML, CSS, AND JAVA. But what I want to know now is what are the,, "techniques" of making a website, like what are navigations made out of? what are the templates made otu of? Tables with image backgrounds? Divs with image backgrounds? This is hard to word and get across, so i hope you understand what im asking. Uhm, yes I do. I know all of them very well.

4. Is this a home work project? It's all text and hyperlinks, embedding links to images. Are you looking for definitions? You say you already know this stuff.
5. How can you know them really well without knowing how to code with them?
6. If you know all of these then it should be pretty easy for you. I only know basic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and I am able to put together a basic site with navigation and images.
