Flash / HTML question?
I want to purchase this site .. http://www.free-website-template.net/templates-preview.php?t=300110108&nu=300110108&aff=598003&v=http://www.free-website-template.net/templates/Flash-animated/Music-portal-300110108/&name=Music%20portal&categ=47&type=Website%20template ....and was wondering if anyone could tell which parts would be edited in macromedia flash and which in frontpage/pagebreeze... I know the banner is flash but that's as far as I can work out. Also is it possible to tell from the screenshots if the 'categories' on the right hand side is html or a part of flash....I'm hoping that I can edit this site with frontpage, and that just the banner is the only part that needs to be edited in macromedia flash, since I dont know much about editing flash.

- It looks as the whole top header is made in flash. You can't tell about the bottom half because it's an image right now. So basically you should be able to edit the bottom half in anything you want. The bottom half means everything under the banner + top navigation.
- It's a dangerous site to buy for Google/Yahoo usability purposes since it's all images and no text (and if you want to rank on Google, you're going to want contextual -- text -- elements). You might want to read about SEO (search engine optimization) to see how this applies. Anyway, the top if flash and the rest is a huge image. http://www.free-website-template.net/templates/Flash-animated/Music-portal-300110108/top.jpg ...which is probably why it's cheap. If that is what you're buying *exactly*, you're really expected to do *all* the work or use an image map which is hardly ideal. I would advise against using the current design; it's a nightmare for mobile phones. Go with more dynamic and interactive navigation, and emphasize the TEXT.
