CV writing tips?
I'm a first year Uni student and have started to write a cv for the first time, so I need some basic info. What do I include? Should I include my grades from 3/4th at school or just Highers (5/6th year)? Do I include the grades for my current Uni modules? Any other general tips would be greatly appreciated.

- be simple, page long, add as many extraculicular activities as possible ( what clubs you were in, volunteer work, if you ever held any positions, etc...) any awards you've won, what skills you have( programing, microsoft office etc...
- 1) Keep it short. 1 side of an A4 sheet will suffice. If a prospective employer has to read through lots of CV's, the shorter the better. 2) Your most recent work history or education at the top of the page. 3) Provide no more than 3 lines of profile, objectives and hobbies. 4) Don't forget, you do not have to tell them your age. 5) Only include skills relevant to the application. If you are applying for a job in a bar, your skill with a needle and thread is unlikely to help with your application (hypothetically speaking) 6) Only include your high school grade results and any further education results or courses you have done recently. .
- When writing a CV always tell the truth, especially about dates as you can be found out very easily. Also do not print onto coloured paper and keep to a maximum of two pages - single sided
- You just put the exams AND grades you got for your Highers. As far as your Uni Course goes you ONLY list the award you are studying towards, for example BA (Hons) English Literature. You do NOT list the modules you have done to get this degree. Do NOT put an aim/objective/personal statement on your CV, if you do it will go straight in the rubbish bin regardless of how well qualified and/or experienced you are.
