Excel XP question, please help?
I want to include an invoice template on my excel document, but I want it to be there preset on every sheet when I open the document. Can I do that? How? I have another question that I will ask once this one is answered. Thanks Nice answer, this works, but what I really need is not to re-use the document. I want to open the document and have the present on the sheets in the bottom.

- Yes, set up your form, lock the cells that you do not want to change or be edited. Save the file ---(example - InvoiceMaster) when you want to do an invoice, open the Invoice Master...type what you need, then select SAVE AS...and give it a new name (example ABC Invoice 1) next time you need to do an invoice, again reopen the Master. Never save over the master...always SAVE AS. good luck :)
- After you have modified your file to suit your preferences, you can save it as an Excel template instead an Excel document. Assuming you have already saved the file as a document, follow these steps: 1.) Open the file in question. 2.) On the menu bar, go to File | Save As... 3.) Click the drop-down menu for the "Save as type" field. 4.) Select "Template (*.xlt)" from the list. 5.) Type the desired file name in the "File name" field. 6.) Don't change the directory. 7.) Press <Enter> or click the "Save" button. This will leave you with the file you had when you began step 1 in the same directory where it was before, unchanged, and a template file saved under the Microsoft templates for your user settings: C:\Documents and Settings\[your user name]\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates\ . From here you have several choices. (a) You can create a shortcut to this template on your desktop (my preference). (b) If you keep the "Getting Started" pane visible when you're working with Excel, and if you will be accessing the template often, you can just select the hyperlink on the "Getting Started..." pane. (c) On the menu bar, select File | New... to display the New workbook pane. Click the link for templates "On my computer" and then select the desired template from the dialog box. To read more on templates, press F1 while you're in Excel and search for "template" to view Microsoft's online help.
