converting a web page to CSS?

i design a website using templates from Illustrator CS2. I'm editing them with Dreamweaver 8 and then uploading them. I've been told that because of the way i've done this, the information on the pages is not searchable. Can anyone advise on converting these pages easily to CSS using either Illustrator or Dreamweaver? I need to do this asap. 1. You need to cut the pieces from illustrator and the use external CSS. Do you know HTML at all. Try http://www.w3schools.com/css/default.asp
