What language should be studied to be a web developer? Shouls it be Linux or Windows based...?
I have learnt designing templates using xhtml & css, but i wan't to develop "better applications" now.. i want to know which will be a better option besides AJAX(which is Javascript).. Should I go for ASP.net, PHP, PYTHON, RUBY ON RAILS, JAVA or any other language.. What is the best option..

- My best bet is php as it's the most used all over the internet, anyway you should also look at asp .net which is by far more convenient and ergonomic. It's the next generation web programming language. You may use ajax with both of them, ajax is really useful to make dynamic websites (pages update without reloading...).
- Java or ASP.. its better you stick to ne technology and be an expert in that one .. there are many architectures in Java, like JSF, Hibernate, spring, struts etc...
- You should learn Java AJAX PHP ASP.net These will be enough
- I'll prefer ASP.net ,PHP& JAVA. these are the main languages using in this era.
- there are different skill sets php, mysql is one (you can also use oracle with php), they are primarily linux based asp with sql server, or oracle, this is windows based java with JSP, JDBC and Oracle (you can have them on both the platforms) The first two skill sets are relatively easier than the third one A good web developer has at least initial, basic knowledge of all the available tools
- I had a laugh at myself when I read your question. Until I read the second sentence, I swear my gut reaction was to suggest that you learn German.
- ... and in addition to the answers above it doesn't matter on which operating system you are working. Choose the one which provides the better tools for doing such development. Good luck M. @victory: you are absolutely right ;-) people don't know how to ask questions.......
- Java java all the way it works all around but php is getting popular due to its free nature too
- Linux based w/ PHP. If you want a job go Windows based with asp.net. Microsoft has sold everyone on this technology. RJ
