I have someone who wants a real estate website and they want to upate themselves. Any ideas?
They want me to design the entire site and offer a template so that they can update listings daily. The site they use now uses PHP but I'm wondering if there's a better way? Something that deals with Microsoft would be great. Maybe ASP? Please help.

- There are a variety of options. Some are simple website applications like DotNetNuke (or similar) which have custom modules written to handle realty. Would cost $10-50 month to host. Similar to the option that they seem to have now yes. Others are full fledged ASP's (application service providers) that provide the same functionality as above AND they supply content (ie. monthly newsletters written for the realtor) AND they sometimes offer advice on how to run the realty business but these guys charge a monthly fee that's more like $50-250 a month. Both options abound on the internet if you google. I'd ask other realtors. I have a friend who eventually settled on a site from these guys. http://www.myrealpage.com/ It's pretty good. Has some nice options and is pretty configurable compared to the ASP he was with before. Personally I'd stick with the PHP option (or for MS as you mention: DotNetNuke or similar free software) but I'm a tech guy and enjoy that sort of thing. The ASP option takes a lot of the headache away. DotNetNuke realty software: http://www.dotnetjedi.com/DesktopDefault.aspx?TabID=179
