I recently downloaded a PSD. free website template.. how can I change it?

I'm kinda a newbie at web design and I downloaded a free template that I really like however when I uploaded it into my FTP is doesn't work? what do I do to make it work? or do I need to change the PSD file into something else? Please Help ... Thanks

1. I think that .PSD is a Adobe Photoshop file, you should be able to convert it too some sort of image file I would think, gif, jpeg, tiff, etc. That's just my two cents.
2. use adobe photoshop to open the psd file and then slice it to fit your site. and save it for web so it will produce the html ad image for your site http://www.joxtechnology.com/
