Cannot "test" edited flash website template HELP!?

I downloaded a free flash website template after I customized it I wanted to "test" it but there is a warning which says "Error creating Flash movie file, Be sure that the destination file is not read-only or opened by another application. also check that the file name is not too long" Also I have already edited the .fla file how come its .swf file does not show the changes I made It also says protected movie. What does this mean? how can I UN-protect this flash file? Remove?? How what is the procedure where to go? Reinstall?? how to reinstall and where? same file name? I don't understand your answer below

1. Do this: Go to File>Publish Settings menu, and use default names and check other entries that refer to external link. There might be password too. If still not working, do this: Check all actionscript in your main timeline and/or symbols that refer to external link. If still not working, you might send me the file.
