Problems using CSS templates and dreamweaver? Ok this is going to be a little hard for me to explain so please bear with me I made a site with a free css template in dreamweaver and everything looked great, I previewed it in my browser (firefox) and it looked exactly like I thought it would... sweet Then before replacing my original crapy looking site with my new CSS template site I uploaded the site to a domain name that I own (which was not in use) and it worked great apart from the fact that I had to follow the folder name on the site to get to it What I mean is the free template was called 'the reckoning' and when I downloaded it, it came inside a folder called the reckoning so I uploaded it to the testing domain and I had to go to www.mydomain.com/thereckoning for it to work and I didnt like that much but I thought ok, all I have to do it is change the name of the file 'the reckoning' to index or better still take the images, index.html and the style.css and put them on my other site and it will work But it didnt now the site only has text and some bullet points and stuff its a real mess :( I have tried for two days now to fix it and I have no idea what I am doing wrong Please help Thanks Also I forgot to mention that it worked ok in Internet Explorer for a while then it stopped working :( Also I have deleted all of the stuff that was originally on my site so there should be nothing conflicting with my CSS file When I uploaded the new site I also made sure to upload the images folder aswell, Also I tried deleting the images folder and just having the images but to no avail

Help with CSS templates!!? So I download the css template and I open the "index" file in both IE and Firefox and that look perfectly fine. But when I open the template in Dreamweaver CS4 and then upload it to my site, there is absolutely no CSS there, it's just all text with no graphics or colors. How can I fix this? Do I have to put the separate css file on the server to or what? I'm really lost and any help would be great!!

Help with using CSS Templates for my website!? How can I be sure that a template will work with Firefox and IE? A lot of the times I upload a nice looking template to Adobe Dreamweaver CS4, then add my info, then upload it to my site but when I go to the actual site on the internet its nothing like it looked like in DW. Most of the time its just the text that I put in with no template colors or anything! Any help would be good!
Is it better to use pixel as a width that percentage in a css template? non-css programmers need not answer. I am trying to make my webpage template fit the entire browser box and have it fit on any monitor screen? Using the percentage option seems to work but it completly looks like crap with wide monitors. If pixel is what I need to use what width must it be? Thank You

I use Dreamweaver MX to design websites, why are some templates all jumbled up in the "design view"? This is especially the case when I work on CSS templates. This makes it very difficult to edit. Is there a setting on DW to make the layout view more like it would be seen if it were on the web?

How can I edit free html or css templates so i can customise them for my site? I have a new community website at http:www.blackcountrygob.com. The website portal was built by someone I am no longer in contact with and I would like to add new areas to the site and also to improve things but I simply have no clue what I'm doing. Exporting/Converting Fireworks/Photoshop Templates To HTML & CSS (NOT TABLES)? Its 2008, Im done with tables. Almost everyone is using css now. I make my templates in macromedia fireworks, slice and export it, and then i handcode the rest (I dont use Dreamweaver). The template comes out in html with tables. My question: How do i export/convert my templates to CSS in Fireworks/Photoshop or any other program?...without using Dreamweaver If anyone knows any tutorials or links or any info based on what i am talking about please your input is welcome. How come when i try to edit a css with adobe dreamweaver i have problems? when i try to edit a css (website template) i always have troubles. like what i mean is that it only shows up as the entire html code for the website and when i try to switch it to view it wont work. it kind of annoys me because i paid good money for that program and i dont want it to be wasted cash.

Which of the following is what is described below: There is a template with over 150+ pages. all of these pages link to one thing/file/folder which from this folder you can edit so it will change all the links on this website. I guess I could make a different image for every page and use the <map> and <area> tags in HTML to create links, but that would be very bandwidth consuming and unnecessary. I've tried using <div> tags with CSS to put text over a background image, but they always come out differently in each browser. I could also take apart each section of the template (links, logo, content boxes, etc.) and put them together on the website, but I think that would be too time-consuming and hard. There must be an easier way to do this, right? I've been thinking about it forever but I have no idea. All help would be extremely appreciated. Thanks, Gerard

What programs do I need for css coding? I would like to make a template using css coding. I am thinking using some flash too. How do I use a CSS template? I have used FTP to upload all the files to my host. The .css file will not upload? I dont even know if this is a file you upload, I have never used css before. How can I get css to ignore table width values? I am working on a layout template for someone, and I am including their php files into my main template file. However, there are tables on the included php files and my template is pure css tableless. The tables on the included php files keep breaking my template page. This is driving me nuts. How do I fix a CSS anamoly in Internet Explorer? I have a site with a top menu and a line underneath it. In firefox it looks fine, but in IE, there is a few pixels of space between the two. I have a template file called template_ie.css which is supposed to fix idiosyncrasies like this, but it doesn't do this one. Cost of coding an HTML/CSS/Zen Cart template based on a mock up? Say I have a web interface that I have designed in Adobe Illustrator or Macromedia Fireworks. And that's exactly how I want it to look on the web. There is a very simple navigation set up, and the layout is simple as well. It's just a box with rounded corners (which will contain the content). I would want that box to always be centered in the browser window. my css disappears every now and again why? I use dream weaver so every now and again the colour, borders and everything that depends on the css diappears and whats left is a blank white page with all the content but in black and blue text, but sometimes the colour is all there with the colour text and all. why does that happen. Why is my design view in Dreamweaver MX04 messed up when I am using a free CSS template? I am using Dreamweaver MX 2004. I have tried to download at least 5 free CSS templates from various places. All of them have correct CSS code and they preview correctly in Internet Explorer, however my "Design View" is all messed up, nothing appears how it should. The alignment is all off, pieces are all over the place, nothing is as it should be. I have to modify a line or two, then preview in IE, the do it again and again after ever little change to make sure i am not screwing the whole page up. That kind of illiminates the whole purpose of Design mode. I am a visual person so staring at lines of code will not work for me, can anyone help. Serious answers only please. Please do not post "Learn the code" or any variation of that, i am slowly learning more about the CSS code, but for now its hard for me to see how it is applying to the design when the design mode is messing up so bad.
