How to get the CSS correct on my Freewebs.com account? Okay, I just purchased my own domain name, through Freewebs.com, and I do not like any of the pre-designed templates that come with it. I looked around and downloaded several layouts that I liked, and some of them come with a CSS file, for the design. I went to the editor, and selected blank CSS template, and went in to advanced. I pasted the CSS info in to the box where it asks, and it does turn my website the certain colors...etc, but none of the images. I noticed that in the CSS folder I downloaded, it doesnt really specify the image URL it just says (images/img1.jpg) Do I need to upload the images somewhere, so I can specify? I know a little about CSS, but I just cannot get this to work. :(

my css disappears every now and again why? I use dream weaver so every now and again the colour, borders and everything that depends on the css diappears and whats left is a blank white page with all the content but in black and blue text, but sometimes the colour is all there with the colour text and all. why does that happen. Where can I get original Microsoft Expression Web Designer css layouts? I have Microsoft Expression Web Designer. The preinstalled css layouts seem to have gone corrupt as when I try to use them I get a blank html page without the usual section lines. I believe the problem is with the css text files and not Microsoft Expression web designer. Reinstalling the program has not helped. Where could I download these css layouts from? CSS Question please help new to dreamweaver CSS HTML and have a project due on monday.? I am trying to use CSS to make a template(dont know if this is the correct terminology or if any I use in this question is correct) I just want a simple header, which I`ve managed to do, a right nav bar?? which I want to be blank in the CSS so that when I do individual pages I can insert an image, that is a photoshop image with the name of the page i.e home, bio page etc. at the bottom I dont know if this is possible, I`d like to have a previous and next in the css, which I can then add the links to in the individual pages, Is any of this possible? Most importantly, I have been messing about with dreamweaver spry and I have created a whole collapsible menu in dreamweaver which has links to all my pages CAN I SOMEHOW PUT THIS COLLAPSIBLE MENU IN THE LEFT NAV BAR OF MY CSS??? then it will be available for all subsequent pages? Any help would be great, I`ll be online most of tonight and most of tomo night trying to get this project finished for hand in on Monday, any help would be greatly appreciated. Does Yahoo! GeoCities support XHTML and CSS? GeoCities File Manager offers a basic blank page template that makes me think it is geared to older forms of html. Given that W3C want us all to move over to (at least) XHTML Transitional (=HTML 4.01, IIRC) and it recommends Cascading Style Sheets to tidy coding up. So, if I use a modern web editing package that uses these standards, is Geocities capable of reproducing these features?

CSS Style Sheet/Dreamweaver Template Question? Alright, I'm redesigning my website and moving hosts right now, and I'm making a template, but I'm having a little problem. When I create a blank page out of the template, and put in a header, there seems to be a gap between my banner and my text (between the banner and 'search results'), and I want to make the text stick to the banner. What free program/web hosting sites allows you to do html as well as CSS? Once upon a time, there was a free web-hosting site called Geocities. Geocites was owned by Yahoo! This web-hosting site would allow you put up your own HTML as well as CSS. If you didn't know HTML or CSS or too lazy to use them, they let you use a page builder. But one day, Yahoo! closed it down and make you pay for it. Ok, so you get the picture. I created an account on Webs. They have a page builder like Geocities. Unlike Geocities, they have templates. I chose one temporarily until I could learn how to build a CSS layout of my own. It was also years since I've last used HTML, and I wanted to experiment with them again until I could recall what the basics were. But... instead of getting a blank-blank page, with nothing on it, I only got a site-builder with my chosen template with the option of giving you a content box, and in that content box, it lets you do some html. Brilliant. Simply brilliant. Call me old-fashioned, but I don't want pre-chosen layouts unless I ASKED. So... any such sites that are similar to the former free hosting site? How about any (free) programs in case I want to experiment them offline? Thanks. How can I use CSS to reformat the H4 tag? I would like to reformat the H4 tag so that it when I use it it will put a blank line BEFORE itself but NOT after. However, I would like it to do a line break. i.e. most of the info comes to me thru Word documents. I would like to be able to copy/paste into my template and then highlight the "headlines", apply the CSS and have it reformat with a blank line above and then a keyboard return after. I tried creating a new style and playing with padding, margins, line spacing. . . I can't get it! Help please. OK, let me try this again. I receive a Word document thru email that needs to go on the website. I would like to be able to just copy from the Word document and paste it into my template for the web. However, all the formatting from Word is lost when I do this. . . SO . . .I would like to be able to then highlight a "heading" and apply a style to it. The style would tell it to increase font size, and weight, change font color AND put a <br> or equivalent after the heading so that the rest of the info is below it and not starting immediately after. Does this make sense. I realize I can key a <br> after each heading but if there is a way to include it in the CSS style it would be much easier. Again, I have tried padding, margins, line spacing, NOTHING seems to give me the <br> effect that I want. Thank you!

How do I widen the post area using CSS in the Simple Blogger template? I am using the Simple (2-column) template in Blogger and have been unable to find the appropriate code to change the width of my posting area. I have successfully already decreased the left margin, but whenever I try to change the post width, it sends the left column completely off of the page. Basically, what I want is to be able to expand the text and picture portion of my posts (while maintaining the distance I currently have between the date/post title and my left column) so that I can fill the large area of blank space on the right of the page and also to have the ability to post larger pictures. Edit CSS to Remove Title and Replace With Image In a Pre-Made Theme? My friends and I are working on a blog. We made it through wordpress (.com, not .org). The theme we used was ChaoticSoul. The website is audiodaze(dot)org. I'm not trying to advertise, so don't go there if you aren't doing it to try to help us. I'm not trying to get in trouble lol. What we want to do is replace the ...audiodaze.. up at the top with a banner type thing that we made. We have access to the CSS stylesheet for the theme. Unfortunately, we aren't quite sure how to change it to accommodate our needs, if it can in fact be changed. I assume that if we were to delete the part that involved the text, theoretically leaving that space blank, and then somehow add an image in that location, we'd be good to go. But I don't know how to go about doing either of those things. The fact that we're working with a template definitely looks like an obstacle, it's probably insisting that we have a title. To the best of my knowledge this is the part of the code that we need to interact with: h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6 { font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif; font-weight: normal; } h1 { text-transform: lowercase; color: #fff; font-size: 2em; margin: 0 0 8px; } h1:before, h1:after { content: " . . CSS Have Div Fill Rest of Page? Ok I'm making this cool template where the width fills the page but the height is limited. But for people with a larger screen than the one I'm designing on it looks weird because everything beyond the footer is blank. I need to have the footer's height, not be 100%, but fill the rest of the page. I tried 100% percent and it did work but it made the scroll bar automatically be there when it shouldn't have need needed.

Where can I get blank web hosting from? I've registered a domain name for my website. I have a .html file, a .css file, a .js file and a few .jpg files. When I run the .html file off my computer everything runs fine and the website runs as it should. The problem came when I tried to place it on the internet. All I get is an option of templates. All I want is a to save them in some folder, on the internet, so that when I type http://jadebms.co.uk/ into a the address bar at the top of a web browser, it will show my .html file. Problem With Web Site I build...Help!!!? I'm building website with Dreamweaver CS3 now what happens when I have a blank template everything works fine! When I start to work on the website, Dreamweaver shows everything OK but when I upload it on the website or preview it it has tables or margins located on different places. Like Left margin can be ok and right one will be 600 pixels lower. or the header can be on top but the page it self will have huge space between Header and Page it self. I tried changing everything CSS, Html. As soon as I change that html template it gives some glitches! It was working good for the past few days and now it gives me problems....

I need Help putting a template on my Yahoo Small Business website.? I have purchased a template. I have a website using Yahoo small business. I am trying to figure out how to put this template on to my site. I really need help. I am familiar with HTML but not CSS and it uses alot of CSS. Here are the instructions it gives me: BASIC TEMPLATE INSTRUCTIONS Before getting started you should always duplicate this folder in another location, in order to refer back to original documents when needed. In order to use the same fonts as the sample file you will need to copy and paste the fonts located in your FONTS folder, into your fonts’ folder on your computer. Location Of folder: My Computer/WINDOWS/fonts Refer to the style.css file (located inside the SITE folder, folder name: styles] along with the html web pages) when needing to modify your text, colors, and some background images and colors. View your source code to identify which items you want to modify. This web template is designed in advanced cascading style sheets format. In order to work with this template you will need some understanding of how to use cascading style sheets. To learn more go to http://www.w3schools.com/css/default.asp. THERE ARE 2 VERSIONS OF LAYOUT DESIGN TO CHOOSE FROM. All web template files for the table-based site are located in the folder named “TABLE BASED SITE”. All web template files for the CSS site are located in the folder named “CSS TABLELESS SITE”. To modify your Business Logo, open the image called “logo-header.psd”, located in your SLICED PSD FILES folder. To do this you will need Adobe Photoshop- or any other software program that handles PSD files. building a template for a website? I am building a new website for my company. I have built websites before, but pretty small basic ones, and from scratch using nothing but dreamweaver. i want this website to not be as crude as my others are built - i tend to use tables but i know that really isn't the way to go for many reasons. i have looked into using a theme, but i have a specific design in mind that i want and am quite capable to do the design for... bearing in mind i have no knowledge of css. basically, i want to have something in between a theme and a blank dreamweaver document. i want to have an editable template, where i can move frames around and put whatever i want into them, edit the colours and all sorts, drop in some flash if i want to and where i want to... is this a possible thing to obtain? i'm sure there must be something out there, but am not quite sure where to start looking. thank you!

Trouble Creating a Website in Adobe Dreamweaver CS3? OK, I am creating a website (my first website in fact) in Adobe Dreamweaver CS3. I created a template in Adobe Photoshop, and added the CSS to remove the border from an image with a link, but when I try to remove and image and replace it with a background image in order to write over it, the background doesn't work, and the three lower images in the table move into the center. To make that sound clearer. 1. I remove the Source Image (Src) and the cell is left blank 2. I add a Background (Bg) image. 3. The background image doesn't appear, the three lower cells move up to the middle of the page with white space above and below it. 4. In the white space, there are three columns Is there anyway to fix this? I am a beginner just to let you know.

how to write over an image in Dreamweaver CS4? i am using Dreamweaver CS4 and i am still beginner at it, i'm still studying it and i had never designed a website b4, so this is my first experience, i am designing an experimental template/page as a first time, i have designed the main template as an image/psd in the Photoshop CS3 - much easier for me than CS4 - anyway, i then cut it into slices and saved it as a webpage in the photoshop "File>Save for web & devices" and saved as type "HTML and Images" so as to make it much easier in the dreamweaver. here are 2 images; Image 1 indicates the full design, as the fonts were written in PS, Image 2 indicates the HTML file WITHOUT fonts as they would be written in the dw... THIS IS THE ONLY PROBLEM WITH ME IN THE DW SO FAR, please help :S and plz tell me whether the image 2 fits with your browser screen resolution or not...
