Css Templates For Websites Knowledge Base

Are there any websites that have free custom css templates for freewebs? I am bored of the templates on freewebs, and noticed that you can change the templates with css. I don't know css, at least not very well. I was wondering if anyone knew any websites that had several css templates for freewebs. Also, please try not to be rude. It really ticks me off when people are rude to me when I ask questions here, especially since I try not to be. I know it is the internet and I can expect some people to be rude, but really you need to grow up if you are just rude to everyone online.

Why isn't my CSS applying on godaddy.com? I recently created a webdomain on godaddy.com, specifically a quick blogcast site. I am having difficulty customizing the css though. When I copy and paste the style.css file from template websites and apply it under the "customize css" area on godaddy, nothing happens. Actually, something happens, like the background colour changing, but that's it. Do I need to host the images somewhere for the whole file to work? Sigh, please help. My experience with godaddy has been more than nettlesome and not being able to design the blog accordingly exacerbates the experience.
How best to use html templates for 50 basically identical websites ? Hi I work for a Freight company and we want to produce fairly simply coded html/css websites for all the countries we deal with. Around 50. The content for each will be individual but the layout, page names and colouring exactly the same. I have been advised to use tempaltes in SQL but have only experience producing one off websites. Also if you did use this route how would you edit the individual sites. Any help or pointing in the right direction would be appreciated. Thanks Conrad That strikes me as a complicated way of achieving the goal, specially as I have NO experience using SQL and very little with php. An example of a competitors website which bascially used this type of setup is expressfreightgermany.co.uk That is the same as expressfreightdenmark.co.uk etc etc etc. but to look at the page source you would'nt know ? and they are html page rather than php ?

What do you call someone who builds websites (via Joomla!) using templates? I have a business consulting firm (general business, marketing, editorial, PR) that caters to small businesses. These are businesses that generally do not have a web presence, such as hair stylists, plumbers, etc. These are folks who rely on "word of mouth" and great work. With our reliance on the Internet, I want to help customers have an easy-to-manage site that looks great and gives them that needed web presence. Most of my customers are afraid of the Net and technology, so this is uncharted territory for them. I have enough skills to build a nice site for them through a template (RocketTheme and now Template Monster) and make some changes on the backend (CSS and HTML) to customize it to their needs. What am I? Clearly, I am not a designer or builder. I don't want to misrepresent myself when there are folks who live and breathe design and code! Also, any ideas of what a person in this role should charge?
Which is the best freeware for generating HTML and/or CSS website templates? I want to download a best freeware which will create nice website templates by just clicking few buttons and will allow me to copy the code, which was used to design that nice template. As I will just copy the code to generate that nice template and will save that as ".html" file and will use with any of my websites. And if there is any paid software which is affordable to buy and flexible to work with and can perform great, then also let me know about that software.
Website Templates? Do any of you know of any websites that have free CSS website templates, or know where I can get a coustomizable style sheet, where I can choose/input my own colors and backrounds? I'm looking for a template for a Self Injury awareness site. I'd prefer the site to be red, black, purple, grey or orange. I don't want it to be triggering to those visiting, but I want people to understand the emotional aspect through my design. I've tried Createblog, and I've looked through all the templates on Freewebs, and I haven't found anything. \ I have a couple of wall papers saved that I might like on it. Maybe someone would be able to design one for me? I know how to manipulate CSS/HTML or input my own colors, I just can't design a template. If interested PM Me.
What are the pros and cons of WYSIWIG vs. hand coded websites? I've been designing websites for about 7 years and I've always just hand coded everything in notepad/notetab. Am I missing out on anything or gaining anything by not using Dreamweaver/Frontpage? Here are a couple of sites that I've done. All hand made from scratch or editing previously used CSS templates made by me. www.smithbuilders.net www.flannerygunengraving.com
Are there any websites that will take my Gimp blog template and change it to html/css code? For free? I made an amazing template for my blog, and now i want to make it come to life, the problem is I am pretty much teaching myself to "code" it and as of right now I have no idea what I am doing but I spent so much time making it that I don't want to waste it. I will earn to code myself but it is just gonna take a long time.. So in the meantime are there any free websites that offer to change your gimp template to html code so I am able to load it onto my blog? Thanks so much for any and all help
Where are the best CSS resources online for Website Design? I have recently got back into website design and I am really wanting to learn hardcore CSS. I have seen some really nice websites out there that are really creative, and all seem to be created with CSS. If I am wrong then please let me know.... ? I have been using a few things like Photoshop CS4 and Dreamweaver, but CSS is rather new to me as a learner for what I am trying to create. I have already discovered the CSS zen garden, but I want other resources that offer out VERY high quality css templates for free for me to try and learn from. Please post your best answers below....

Incorporating a Website Template(http://www.quackit.com/html/templates/download/portal/8/html/) into my sql? I am new to this and I obviously do not have much experience building websites. I unzipped the files for a template that I would like to use, but I am not sure where to go from this. Do i need to make certain sql tables? Or can I just use an ftp client to upload everything to the main server. Any tutorials about incorporating website templates using css/sql would really help!
css template? OK, I got a free template on www.2dwebdesign.com/ that I wanted to use for my website, but I can't find any websites that will host it for free. I've looked on www.2dwebdesign.com/ to see if they can host it, but I don't know if they can. So does any one know where I can find a free template online that's only css and I can edit it easy, and host it free.
How to use CSS for mobile browser compatibility when you already use CSS for main site? I have a huge series of websites for my boss which we want to make more mobile-friendly. My thought was that I could say: <link href="http://*****/templates/css/global.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> <link href="http://******/templates/css/blue2.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> <link rel="stylesheet" href="http://*******/mobile.css" type="text/css" media="handheld" /> and that it would specify "use the regular css normally, use the other one on a mobile device." Can you use CSS for mobile if you already use CSS? or would it be better to put little mobile linkers on each page. Sorry, I had left off a line. Thanks for comments so far. I will look at the website that was linked.

Hi again all, me again :) Ok so I was looking for a plugin to help make the footer of my websites look more attractive and I couldn't really find any :s So I started to look up template css codes that I could paste into my Footer.php and Stylesheet.css pages in the my website editor section but I couldn't really find any of those either :s I am looking to make the footer that includes a list of the pages on my website, as well as some links I can add and then of course the powered by Wordpress and Designed by Whomever text and maybe some images if possible. Dreamweaver Website Template - duplicate with css? Adobe Dreamweaver has an ability to create a template to use on an entire website, and all you have to do is create the parts of the webpage that will remain the same throughout each page, such as the structure, background, and navigation, and then you specify the parts of the template that are editable, kind of like an empty table cell where you can put all you text and graphics that are specific to each page. then when you create the individual pages, you link to this template, make your changes for that page, and upload them along with the template document. This is especially helpful with large websites, where if you needed to make a change to the navigation for instance, you wouldn't have to edit and reload hundreds of pages, just one document (the template). I have been trying to find out how to accomplish the same thing without the need for dreamweaver, as I already have a program I use, and cannot to afford to buy the program, and downloading trials every month is not ideal. I've been learning css, and am very fond of using external style sheets, so I was wondering if it's possible to do the same thing as dreamweaver, using css somehow. Any help what-so-ever, whether a full answer or at least a point in the right direction, would be very much appreciated. Thank you! thank you circusmort, that's what i was afraid of. i will take your ideas into consideration.
How to make money by designing websites? Hi, for the past two years ive really been into web design. I design websites for fun, usually I dont even upload them, but I just enjoy creating them for the sake of it. I am able to create almost any kind of website in css including creating templates in photoshop and indesign. Lately ive been hearing from people that I should use my skill to actually make some money. I really started thinking about this, but somehow I dont know where to start. What should I do to become a freelance web designer and start working on different projects in my free time? Thanks :)
how to change template with Css? I am using webs.com for everything with my website. I have pretty much self taught myself alot but am still a NOOB when it comes to websites. i have learnt how to do HMTL coding and stuff but am still abit cautious, so i am still using a template provided by webs.com. With webs I can edit the template with CSS. The problem is i have tried and failed :-) I worked out how to make the main content area larger but with that comes a problem, it goes underneath my sidebar on the right, so what i want to do is either move my sidebar to the left or move my main content area to the left. So I can make the area wider. They provide some short cut codes (eg. #fw-sidebar .fw-paragraph {background: LightGrey !important; color: white !important; border: 1px solid black !important; margin: 5px !important;}) but they havn't helped me with this.
Is Wordpress.org good for 100% static websites? I'm thinking of migrating my html websites from Microsoft Frontpage to either DW CS4 (I have this) or Wordpress. Not sure which one is better for static sites. My sites are all html and have no need for a blog or anything dynamic for that matter. My intention is to build a number of small websites with the same main template but all I will change is the graphics and content for each site. If I look at the coding on frontpage, its really messy. At least with DW if I learn CSS it should get rid of that problem. Would wordpress.org automatically create nice clean code too? Whats my best alternative and what would be easier for a girl? Yes I'm aware that wordpress is geared towards blogs. The reason why I'm asking is because if I switch to DW I will have an initial steep learning curve, but with wordpress I've heard that its just like using Microsoft Word? Either way I would have to learn one of the platforms. Which one... I'm not sure.
I am starting out with web design and want to know about using modules? I am thinking about using templates to make my websites for friends. I preferable would like without css files if anyone knows a good place to find free templates like that? I also would like to put flash objects in there but know nothing about action script. I was told you can insert modules into the code from the template or paste in code for things that you like. Im thinking using a scroll menu, slide show, video, etc. and dont know where to look to find an option of flash code for these types of things and others??
Tables or CSS layout ? Hi I have been playing with using both Tables and Css to layout my 3 column latest website. I have come across many websites that are along the same lines some very modern, some CMS based and some not so good. A hell of a lot of designers, templates and CMS's for this type of structure atleast are still using tables (to be clear thats inside an overall CSS structure) to create 3 column layouts, with the sizing and everything styled with CSS. How would other designers on here solve a problem like 3 columns. thanks Acknowledged
An amazing website for CSS coding? Are there any websites that go through step by step and shoe how to code using css/html/php/javscript/whatever needs to be used? I want something that shows how to do a header, how to do a navigation bar, how to position the body and other tables, how to make it all look very good and professional. I've looked on w3school and it teaches the individual things but I can't follow along well, I've tried teaching myself by taking templates and going through them but I need something that will explain it to me.
What free website creator/domain allows me to work without a template required? I am creating a web page for a school project and know HTML and CSS fairly well, so I want to use the format I created. The websites I went on would want me to use a template, are there any that don't have to allow that? Sorry if the question was necessary in any way, and thanks! :) **unnecessary. ;)
How do I turn this website layout from css into html? I was looking for free website layouts, and found the perfect one for my website. This is the website with the layout: http://www.freelayouts.com/templates/Hot-Air-Balloons I downloaded it and got this: http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y128/native_girl/Picture1.png And when I opened style.css I got: http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y128/native_girl/Picture2-1.png When I tried to copy and paste that into the html editor of the hostgator website editor thing I've been using, it doesn't create anything. The page is just filled with that script. I'm really really new to building websites. How do I make this layout work?
Creating professional websites. Need to know more? What languages do I need to learn to create professional website which would have: content management system (CMS), forum, users login? Now I know these languages: xhtml, css, javascript, phpbb and photoshop 5.0 for design. What do I need to learn more? If you're websites programmer or designer, please reveal me what well known programs or languages do you use mostly to create professional website? P.s., don't recommend me to use templates, I need to learn myself only with help of programs or web languages.

Hi I want all 20 of my new websites to look exactly the same and therefore be able to change the appearance of them all, just by altering a html and Css template. Getting into computer programming and software engineering? Hi, I'm 25 years old and am thinking of going back to school. (Right now I am a newspaper journalist, which seems like a very shaky career path.) I want to get into computer programming and software engineering, but I have no real experience in any of this. I have learned the basics of Visual Basic and web programming like HTML, CSS, Flash and Javascript, but not enough to write anything too elaborate on my own. I do think I have the ability to succeed in computer programming. How difficult of a field is this to get into and what do you think of job prospects? I had considered going into web development, but I was told by many that those jobs were way to easy to outsource and too many people can make websites easily and offer templates and such. Any advice or information you can offer will help. I don't know if journalism has a future for me. I'd like to head back to school in August/September. Thank you! To the responses I've received already, thank you. I have no desire to work in the medical field, despite realizing it has great job opportunities. Are computer languages and stuff very difficult to learn? I'm guessing I'd finish in four years and then get a job? I think I am good at learning new languages -- I've also thought about learning a foreign language and finding a career that way! But I love computers and technology, so I think programming of some sort would be a good fit.
How do I make a cool looking website? Hello im Thomas, and im trying to make a cool website for my xbox 360 clan.I recently downloaded wordpress but it didn't have much options. So i downloaded Joomla. And I love it but it doesn't have any cool templates.I have seen some websites that look bad ass.Is there any software they downloaded to make that cool website.(And no I don't want to copy their .CSS).If anyone has any ideas I would really appreciate it.Thank you for listening.

Pre-packaged website for a small business (e.g. auto repair shop) to use as a "template"? Are there vendors who sell prepackaged website solutions for small businesses? If so, please provide links. An acquaintance of mine is an independent auto mechanic. He has asked me to help him put together a simple website to help publicize his shop .... something on the order of "brochure-ware". My first thought was to look around at existing websites and get permission to reuse/borrow by looking at the "source code" with View + Source. I've been the volunteer webmaster for a number of websites over the years, and am familiar with html, css, and php. However, I got to wondering if there are vendors with pre-packaged websites that might be a better way to go. My impression is that such a "bundle" would have a variety of "templates" which you would customize for your specific situation (phone number, address, pictures, services provided, etc.) The proposed website wouldn't be actually selling anything, so it wouldn't need to handle credit cards, rma's, or a "shopping cart".
I am a layman. What languages and other things should I read &know in order to fully design my website.? I mean including the pictures, text etc. I have thought of some visuals of mine to be done in graphics etc. too(for that what are all the things should I learn like photoshop or maya or CSS). Both the programming language and the things to be learn for visual should be easy to learn in very short period of time. In fact I have thought of my own templates which should be very different from normal websites and blogs. So please help me.
How do I build embedded video websites like animecrazy.com? Ok,I thought of creating a anime streaming website that incoporates external links from sites such as megavideo, dailymotions, that is embedded contents like veoh etc. Just do a search on stream anime videos on google you will see -some sites with background embedded with video games advertising. -videos embedded from dailymotions, youtube, veoh etc. On it,I thought of incoporating affiliate advertising advertisements whatever. Ok,I admit I have decent programming skills and web coding skills learnt from school.HTML,CSS,SQL,PHP still ok. But I do not have any experience with PPC network, all these. The very most I have done for is Microniche adsense sites done using XSitepro. Is there any existing script or template that will allow me to make quick modification so that I can get it up and running? I have got the guts to do everything by myself and all the planning.I will break down tasks by weeks. Can anyone suggest to me the best course of actions to take? Regards, http://abovegroundpoolinstallation.net
Working as a webmaster, questions.? Hey! I have been thinking about working as a webmaster. I've been doing website design since I was about 7 years old, and I am 14 now. I can handle XHTML and HTML, Java, C++ and some other languages, but mainly I would focus on XHTML, CSS, and other languages used in the making of websites. I have worked with photoshop and dreamweaver, although I write all codes down using notepad (don't have dreamweaver). Now I would like to know, how much would someone like me get out of doing a job like this? I would maybe webmaster about 5 sites, add updates and things to the page, and on the side, make website designs (templates) for others to use on their own. How much can I ask for? I want more challenges, which is part the reason I want to do this. I feel like I have the experience and want to do it, and I have loads of ideas to work with. Basic point, how much can I get out of this in money? What is working as a webmaster like? Have you done it?
What programming language to use? Hi guys, Im looking to make a complicated, online music website with a search engine etc... Firstly, I have no clue in programming languages, and it is not worth to buy 'website design software' as I really want to learn all of this myself. What is HTML? Is that just the basics of writing websites, like the font and paragraphing etc. (Can you use HTML to make website templates?) Is javascript worth learning for a complicated website? What about CSS? So sorry for all the questions, but there are so many opinions of this on the internet, and i just want ONE straight forward answer with guidelines, my head is a mess after looking all of this up on the internet. Thanks Ben HTML and JAVASCRIPT look very similar! ahh! XHTML? A more updated version of HTML? where to start :S Please talk to me like a 2 year old when you try to explain! =]
A web designer's job is easier than a web developer's? Hi, I am currently working as a web developer. Basically, I implement websites with open source packages, such as Joomla, Magento, etc... This can be stressful as I have to literally change every aspect of most templates to fit the clients' needs and also I have to add a lot of custom functionality. However, I cannot say that I am a PHP expert. Although I know how to do many stuff with PHP. When it comes to HTML and CSS I know them pretty well. However, I have become pretty stressed at this job and I would like to try out another job, mainly because when it comes to web I am in charge of everything where I work. My question is, that an opportunity has arisen for a Web Designer job. Basically, at this job I will only need to create the designs and then the developers will take care of the implementation of the website. When you say 'just the design', this means the PSD and or/ Flash banners and so on? Or would you need to also create the HTML/CSS layout? I know that when starting from scratch, a Web Designer's job is easier than a Web Developer's. However, since I used Joomla and other packages to create websites, I never really implemented a huge website from scratch. I know my way around Photoshop. I will now need to create designs from scratch. Do you think that I will do all right at this job or could I find it hard? Because I have a feeling that the pay will be better for a more relaxing job and I would like to try it out. However, I become very anxious when changing a job because of the fear of making a bad decision of changing it (this is the first time that I am considering to change the job after 1.5 years). Your input would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance. This job doesn't have any server side or client side coding. It just needs someone to create the designs. The implementation will be done by the developers.
What web design cert. program is good for me? Hi Everyone, Currently, I am deciding on which web design certificate program I should take. I decided to go this route since I have a BS already and I am not interested in going back to school for another 4 years. This will all be based on cost and the timeframe. I noticed some certificate programs can last from 5 months to 1 years. Does it really matter the length of time? I just want to make sure I am getting everything that I need to get started in this field. Can you please let me know if this is a good program. Also, does it matter if this is a non-credit certificate or will that effect me later? I am listing 2 of the same programs but from 2 different institutions (community colleges). Designing a website for an organization...? I know that you can buy web design programs to make your own graphics, customize fonts/etc. and put all of the pages together. And I know that you can make layouts for websites like Xanga and Myspace. But the organization needing a website definitely won't be a blog, and it already has a domain name reserved. But if I weren't willing to buy a program, but I want to be able to make the design myself (without templates like Freewebs). So where should I go? I know how to use basic CSS. Would there be basic html codes (for a whole website) that I could edit and customize, or something? Any advice is helpful. (Yeah, why they are asking a teenage girl with minimal web design knowledge to design their website is beyond me.) ...but how do you connect the codes to the actual URL?

Is Being a Script Kiddy All That Bad? Hey.. I'm 15 and am trying to design my own site for my friends and stuff to hang out on. Basically i learned HTML/CSS/PHP really well about a year ago then WoW came into my life and well.... i lost almost all of it. I've never really been able to make great websites just because i don't know how to use photoshop all that well. I know how to code well.... but my photoshop side is pathetic. So i just got some templates off freecsstemplates.org and was thinking of using them. I know all of the code and understand it completly, i just could never create something like that on my own. I guess its just a pride thing that is bugging me that i have to use someone elses work :P Anyone have any imput on this? If you have any suggestions as to how NOT to fall into the script kiddy route please post. Any help is greatly appreciated!!
Website building help....? Ok,well my youth group leader chose tripod.com to host her new website.I think its a great way to reach young teens, however the website is well its pretty low tech and will probably get just laughs from kids who are used to websites like MySpace.I have found a free template I want to use(I know how to do it)its just is there anyway you can clear a TriPod site and completely enter your own CSS style sheet, but still make it easy for a non-html inclined person to update easily? If so please explain in detail :D.Thanks
How can I fix my line-height? Hi. I've recently created a website and feel the line-height is a little to big. Whenever I go to fix the line-height it messes up footer for my website. I go to my Template (which is formatted in CSS) and change p, ul, ol {margin-bottom: 2em; text-align: justify; line-height: 200%;} to p, ul, ol {margin-bottom: 2em; text-align: justify; line-height: 100%} I have no clue about websites, and no clue about coding-but does anyone have a guess what I'm doing to mess up my site, or what I can do to fix this?
What method to use to build a website with a static layout/template? I've been building websites for about 5 years now, never more than simple HTML in Dreamweaver. I'm about to build a web site that essentially needs a header/menu-sidebar/bg to stay the same on every single page, and only the content on each page to be different. Pretty much, I want to make a template - HOWEVER - how can I make this "template" come from a source file? In other words, if I want to change a menu item or header in the future, I don't want to change every single page- just the "template" file. Is this something I would do with CSS? Where do I start or learn about this?
Transitioning from Tables to Divs....? Hello web design gurus! You probably have a name for someone like me.. I have never studied web design in school, but I ended up learning on my own and experimenting with a few different sites.. I'm more of a graphic designer with a limited knowledge of coding who likes to build websites here and there. I have my own hosting account, use Dreamweaver & the rest of the creative suite and yes, I use TABLES (I can hear your blood curdling screams already).. I know this not the way to go nowadays and all the reasons why. I also experiment with Wordpress and have learned to manipulate the css in a few different ways to change template layout, etc. My problem is that if I can't see the layout visually the way it actually appears I'm lost.. which is why I use tables.. I can drag the edges to make them wider, I can hit the background image button and insert background images.. I can center them or align left or right and see the design right in front of me before I upload it.. When I look at a page file from a wordpress theme for example all I see is a bunch of divs that look NOTHING like the page looks in a browser and it drives me crazy! So finally my question or questions... Is there a software other than dreamweaver or a capability in dreamweaver that will enable me to manipulate divs and their content where I can see it and manipulate it as it appears in a browser rather than seeing the mess (It looks like a mess to me) of a bunch of divs and text??? If not, can you recommend a book or tutorial that will ease me out of my old-school ways of designing with tables and into the realm of accessibility, & standards using css & divs? Many thanks in advance!
How do I add a "Current Music, Mood, etc" widget on blogger.com (blogspot.com)? I love blogger.com so far, but I've noticed it doesn't have a little form for typing in what music you're currently listening to, or sharing your mood, or location, or any of those little extras that I've seen on many other blog websites. Sure I could just type in "Currently listening to <whatever>", but that's not exactly what I want. It's probably possible I can use CSS or something to kinda fake it into the template, but is there some easy way to add a feature like this?
How much should I charge for a website? I have been making websites for a while and have recently actually started a business. I was to come up with a good pricing system. I want it to be "cheap" compared to other businesses. I do graphic design, coding (html, php, css, javascript, etc.), and all the stuff. I think i know what I am doing but I just don't know what a good pricing system would be. What do you think? System I came up with: Graphic Design, Template Development, Homepage - $300 Pages 2-10 - $50/each After 10th page - $75/hour Is that any good? I currently have a client (a speedway) they want 9 pages including homepage. They also possibly want a contact form, newsletter, CMS (Content Management System) and I plan to charge more for those obviously.
Thanks Conrad
Wed Design CSS & HTML website template? i am looking for a simple music template that i can edit, it has to use css to control layout, have a css menu. is there any websites that offer these templates free or to buy, i dont mind paying up to $50.00. thanks.

How do bands make their websites? I know they use photoshop and i know some html, a little css and no div.? I DO NOT want layout generators, premade layouts, or anything like that. I'm pretty sure they are using div codes to place each object where they want it so that it breaks free from the myspace template. I want a one collumn block (basically what it looks like with no box borders, but I want a border on the left and right of all the info. Also, i have a background image that im workin on, i want it fixed, with links in a banner above the myspace ads and in a banner below the myspace ads. I have codes to hide what I don't want. I figured out how to make an Imap to put multiple links in one image, but i couldn't get it into a banner. Basically, i want to know what system they are using so that I can customize everything. This is driving me crazy because I know you use divs to position exactly using pixels but i can't find any tutorials on how the coding works. like seriously i need a computer genius at this point.
How can I start a website from scratch? I am not interested in finding a web host or anything of that sort at all. I know HTML, CSS, Javascript, the works really well. I have Dreamweaver, photoshop, and flash cs3. It's just that I can make good websites, but I mostly use them from other people's website templates and just change a lot of stuff to make it my own. Do I draw it out on a sketchpad first? How should/can I start from scratch?
Question about web design, HTML, CSS...? Ok im 16 and i do HTML and CSS coding in my spare time. I am planning on majoring in Computer Science in college, and im just doing this fro fun. Problem is i know the tags and stuff but i cannot make any good looking websites. They all look really amateur and stupid! This site here: http://www.opendesigns.org/preview/?template=421 has a cool web design. but i cant seem to make any of those! And i really want to! Can somebody show me a tutorial somewhere or tell me a good book to get - on making websites that are appealing to the eyes and don't look like something i made in 10 minutes?! Addition: i dont want to use dreamweaver, i kind find that "cheating". I mean, i looked at the code fro the site above, and i knew all the tags, but its putting it together in that manner thats getting me, i dont really understand how to make a website attractive. I mean, ugh!
What are websites made out of? ? First off, I KNOW HTML, CSS, AND JAVA. But what I want to know now is what are the,, "techniques" of making a website, like what are navigations made out of? what are the templates made otu of? Tables with image backgrounds? Why couldn't I post any entries in Blogger's blogs? I found out that none of my post appeared on the blog page. So I was wondering, was the problem caused by changing of templates, which I got from graphics websites? I just changed it again but the problem stays. Do I need to put some additional html or css codes to fix the problem? If yes, what can I do? Thank you.
