How do I edit Flash templates I downloaded? I downloaded a trial version of Macromedia Flash MX version 6.0. I also downloaded some free templates to use with this to edit for my site, but whenever I try to open FLA files, it says an error occurred. Whenever I try to open the SWF files, it just shows a blank image and all the menu buttons in Flash MX disappear - it just shows the SWF by itself. Help please! :)

BTW: I'm new to this so please bear with me.. I downloaded a free template which is found here http://www.flashtemplatesdesign.com/free_templates/free_flash_templates.php the template name is metamorph_flash71 (the one with the white flower) Everything is going good in Dreamweaver, I was about to edit the html code so all the writing would change to what I wanted. The only problem is... how do I get rid of the damned flower (sorry) .. but its frustrating me.. The files that came with the template download dont even have that flower jpg or bmp .. or whatever.. there's no file for the flower.. its like it is etched into the very fabric of the page! grr.. can someone kindly help me on how i can get rid of the flower and bubbles coming out of the flowers .. or How i can replace it.. thank u ! :) cheers in dreamweaver

Cannot "test" edited flash website template HELP!? I downloaded a free flash website template after I customized it I wanted to "test" it but there is a warning which says "Error creating Flash movie file, Be sure that the destination file is not read-only or opened by another application. also check that the file name is not too long" Also I have already edited the .fla file how come its .swf file does not show the changes I made It also says protected movie. What does this mean? how can I UN-protect this flash file? Remove?? How what is the procedure where to go? Reinstall?? how to reinstall and where? same file name? I don't understand your answer below
need advice for creating flash animations? I am a complete newbie with Flash, though I have worked with Flex. I have Adobe Standard Flash Builder 4 and can get Monkey Jam or any other free software if it is available for download. I need to create animations like the one used in the video at http://www.luminafoundation.org/podcasts/tuning-adventures-in-learning.html I did a search for free flash animation maker software and free flash templates and found lot of links. Should I get one of the free flash animation maker software tools like and try doing it or a particular one would be better for what I want to do? Any pointers would be appreciated. Editing a Flash menu without flash software? I downloaded a free web template called Cut and Paste from freewebtemplates.com. I was able to successfully edit the header image to fit my needs in MS Paint, however, I'd like to do the same with the Flash menu. It is a .swf file-I think the template was created for use in Dreamweaver, however, I don't have Dreamweaver and I'm only using Notepad to edit my website. I'd really like to be able to edit this menu without having to download any extra software. Any suggestions? Thanks! how do you publish HTML sites when you have one already made? I am currently using a program called "NetObjects" to create a HTML based site, however this program does not allow the user to copy/paste a html code to override the existing one. I am planning on either downloading a free HTML template or purchasing a HTML template from somewhere off of the internet. If anyone knows any "good" (easy to use/can be edited using coding+maybe some sort of "easy user interface") programs, or any sites that sell particularly amazing looking HTML (NOT flash, we're staying well enough away from that) templates, please post/let me know. :D

I have a website template i downloaded and would like to use. I downloaded it from freewebtemplates.com? Here is some more info: I went to the website and downloaded the template. In my documents there are files for it with the following types: file folder which is just images, PNG image which is the whole template, shockwave flash which i can't open, html document with index as the file name when i click on this a webpage of my template pops up on ie. and then database file with a file name of "thumbs", and I can't open that either. Which file do i need to use? Are there any free programs (even with a link back) , where i can use this template and customize the text on the tabs and add links, etc.? If not, are there any programs i can use to upload my template to it, then edit, that are inexpensive and one time fee? I already have hosting, and every program seems only allow me to use their hosting if i use their design program? Someone, please help... Help with website form/programming/php? Not even sure how to phrase the title of this question! I run a blog site with photoshop brushes for download and sale. The brush sets are free for personal use, but to use them commercially you can buy a license. At the moment I have to manually make out a commercial license for people every time,and then i send them a paypal invoice. takes up a lot of time.. What i'd like is some system whereby they pay (still with a paypal buy now button i guess) then they get redirected to a form where they enter their details and then a personalised license is produced from a template file or page. They then save that page as their license. I guess the page would have to be somehow secure so that they coudlnt just share that link with others. (though the license is only valid along with the paypal receipt) Where/who can i go for help with this? Do i need a programmer or what? im afraid I don\'t even know where to start .. PHP, flash? why is my computer so slow? For the past year, my computer has become slow. It's not a terribly new machine (5 years old), but it's not outdated. My work computer is the exact same model and OS - Dell, Pentium 4, Windows XP. I haven't had the internet at home for almost a year now since I graduated college. It crashed 2x during my last semester of school and one of my professors offered to fix it for me - he got it to actually turn on again and cleaned out a crapload of malware and adware, despite the fact I had two virus programs - Norton and AVG. As of recently, it's really slowed down in performance. I cleaned out programs I don't use anymore, formatted the hard drive, used the disc cleanup, transferred more files to my flash drive - but it's still slow. It takes about 15 minutes to restart and 5-10 to open any large programs like Adobe or Microsoft Office. When I checked my hard drive, I had 67% free memory. I only have three major software programs on the computer I downloaded - Sibelius, the Sims 2, and iTunes, all of which I've had for about 3 years and never had a problem of my computer being slow. I often get messages of "Virtual Memory Running Low" and sometimes I'll see messages from Microsoft Word about changes being made to the global template, though I never use templates or macros in my Word document. I know about the CAP virus but it's been around so long I know Norton or AVG would pick it up....or would it? What could be going on? I'm buying a new computer when I move to another state for graduate school so I can't drop a lot of cash in my home PC. I don't consider outdated because it still functions for my needs. Some of you could've saved time by reading the whole question here - I don't have the internet at home so I can't download anything. I've defragmented and cleaned the hard drive. Why would I need extra RAM if my hard drive is 67% free? I make no claims to be a computer guru, so please, if you have time, feel free to explain that to me. Where can I learn to add flash material like Wix? Hi I have been interested in flash web design and know a little about it. I am at the point where I can edit a flash template and upload it to my URL through dreamweaver. But, I want to learn the tricks of Flash like adding Contact forms and youtube videos and adding more pages to your template and creating picture slide shows and pop up windows within flash. I have seen tons of these features on Wix.com but the problem is I need to be able to create multiple sights, add free, without having to pay $9 a month for each one on Wix. Another problem I have with Wix is that I will have to point my domain to a Wix sight since I cant download the flash source files created with Wix. I cant seem to find a good site with tutorials on how to do these types of things. Can anyone help? Thanks!
