Flash Animated Website Templates Knowledge Base

Need help inputing an animated image into a webpage template? I'm helping a friend re-edit her website that was done by someone else in the past who designed it with a website template they bought. It was a Flash Animated Template that had regular html along with two .swf (shockwave files or flash animations) that were consistant on everypage (there's about 10 pages). She wanted me to change only ONE of the .swf's so I did and on the Home page (index), it works fine, but when I try to enter the destination of the animated file in the HTML of the other pages (the same way I did on the Home page), it DOESNT WORK?? Could there be something in the CSS of the template that is denying me access to change the .swf file?? The other person who did the website that bought this template is no longer around so is there anyone who might possibly help me?? I have no clue how to read CSS. Thanks.
Flash / HTML question? I want to purchase this site .. http://www.free-website-template.net/templates-preview.php?t=300110108&nu=300110108&aff=598003&v=http://www.free-website-template.net/templates/Flash-animated/Music-portal-300110108/&name=Music%20portal&categ=47&type=Website%20template ....and was wondering if anyone could tell which parts would be edited in macromedia flash and which in frontpage/pagebreeze... I know the banner is flash but that's as far as I can work out. Also is it possible to tell from the screenshots if the 'categories' on the right hand side is html or a part of flash....I'm hoping that I can edit this site with frontpage, and that just the banner is the only part that needs to be edited in macromedia flash, since I dont know much about editing flash.
What are good tutorials for designing website templates in photoshop cs4 and logos/headers in flash cs4? I know how to code websites in html and i know how to do programming, I am just bad at making the actual images of the site and i would like to get better at this, Are there any good tutorials out there on making good websites in photoshop cs4 and maybe also making headers and animated logos in flash cs4. I have the adobe master collection and i know how to use photoshop and dreamweaver, but im bad with flash. I know how to use the functions of photoshop i need something where i can learn how to use gradients and such to create sleek looking sites and how to slice them correctly to make a template out of it :) Thanks!
Look for a website builder that supports flash (.swf)? I would like to have a site with a website builder similar to weebly, webnodes and free webs, where you chose a template and stuff, but I want to be able to upload my flash files to the site as well. Like, for example I wanted to have a flash banner, but everything else none flash. If not, how do you publish in flash so that your png, jpeg, etc. files are animated? Note: I am not looking to make a website entirely in flash. I already tried wix. Also 'free' is a very nice word
Creating a website with Adobe programs? I create a website template in Illustrator, an I want to animate the Navigation bar in flash and then export it to Dreamweaver and turn it into HTML. I am having problems problems animating the Nav Bar and then making it clickable. How do I do that? Here is what i want to do. Illustrator Nav Bar---Animate with Flash---Export it to Dreamweaver and add hotspots Its not the wrong way to do it. The buttons look better in Illustrator than in Photoshop because its Vector.

Help! I dont want to seem like a *censored*!? Hi Guys, Would love some advice on the following. There's this guy I know who seems to like me (he's incredibly sweet, but I'm not interested in him in that way). I have my own business and am changing websites from Flash to HTML (basically something more search engine friendly) and am keen to learn HTML and do it myself. Anyway, a few days ago a came across a website template which I like and asked the guy if it seemed search engine friendly (to get his technical opinion). He got VERY animated, said that the website design was "rubbish" and that he could do something way better. I politely refused and said i'd look for more templates online, but he kept insisting. I then said, "thanks for the offer, but I couldnt possibly impose ...and if I was going to ask you to do something, i wouldn't expect anything free". @ this point he got VERY insulted and said that he would NEVER accept payment from me and was going to do it "whether I wanted him to or not" (his words) . I said I really wanted to do it myself and that he REALLY shouldnt and he just said "whatever". Anyway, last night he unveiled the website which - by his own admission - he has spent DAYS working on. The problem is, I really dont like the website he's done. It's a nice gesture, but it doesnt look professional at all. What do I do? He's expecting to see it on my domain and I really dont want to hurt his feelings (he's very sensitive). Help!
How do I embed a video in a CSS file on Dreamweaver CS4? Flash CS4? I've used an animated gif, but it is too big (30mb). The DWCS4 Template only lets me do it in the CSS file, cos that's where the jpeg was. I replaced the *.jpg with the 30mb *.gif, but it is way too big. It would take too long to load the *.gif for the visitor. Is there a way I can use my Flash CS4? ...or Fireworks CS4? My suite does not have the "Flash Video Encoder" package for some reason. (that is what 1 or 2 tutorials said). I've spent all afternoon trying to find it on my own and keep coming to dead ends. Here's what I did (not required to read): I found an awesome "free template" to use in DW CS4. It has a picture where I wanted to put a video of a fish-tank. (for a fish-tank website). But the picture is in the CSS file. Not the html file. So, I figured I could change a jpeg into an animated gif in the CSS file and it worked! (((yay))) ...but the dern thing is too big. I even wanted to figure out how to put a "loading image" thing over while it loads, cos it is jittery while it loads and takes a while, even with a cable modem & i7 XP. But when it's done loading, it is *perfect*! (but too big for the wwweb) I do not want to reduce the size of the gif, cos there are too many complications (and loss of quality). I don't want to have a "player" doing the video, cos it has buttons. I need a flash-type-file to work in the place of the jpeg/gif in the CSS file and I don't know how to make it be in the html file. It would have to be in the CSS file? (seperate question, I guess) I am a top contributor in a different world and I didn't want to taint my "image" there. So, I'm asking here. Thank you, in advance! Ron: I haven't asked a question for a few years and forgotten how this works. I cannot pick you, perhaps until it expires? (sorry) I've always wondered why/how people people pick "best answer", as I'm sure you might not know, either. I do not use this account much. So, you *might* end uP in voting. Just-know, it's not my fault. I would pick you, now, if I could. Anyone who comes to this question from a search, please put a detailed comment in the comment box below. It would be fun to see what anyone says after a couple years, as this is the 1st question of mine in this profile *ever* on Aug 3rd 2009. Adobe CS4 is the latest thing *now* and I'm lovin' it!!!
